HERMS Coil Kettle Adapter Tri-Clamp 1.5" x 1/2" Female

This BSP adapter is used to install our HERMS coil in a Craft Hardware flat-bottomed HERMS HLT kettle or other converted Tri-Clamp kettle. The coil is installed through two Tri-Clamp ports on your kettle, and you will need two of these to install your coil. Outside the kettle you can attach any standard 1.5" Tri-Clamp fitting. Completely remove your HERMS spiral from your kettle for cleaning, super fast and super easy. No tools or teflon tape required.

This fitting requires a DN40 Tri-Clamp ferrule on your kettle. It will not work with the slightly smaller 1.5" ferrules found commonly in threaded conversion kits. 

If you have a permanently installed HERMS coil that is screwed into your kettle with the 1/2" lockrings, you need a different adapter found here.

Specifications:

• Tri-Clamp size 1.5" (2x)
• Inner diameter: 11 mm
• Thread: 1/2" BSPP female
• Gasket: EPDM

The fitting includes a robust EPDM gasket specially sized for this application. It is more tear resistant than silicone and seals without compressing into the fluid path. No Teflon tape is necessary. Lightly hand-tighten the fitting, do not over tighten!

Note: This product is intended for use only with the BrewPi coils which are also sold here in our shop. It requires a sufficiently wide flat surface on the coil fitting to make a proper seal. May not work with other 1/2" threaded HERMS coils.
 
Installation:

• Place the HERMS coil ends through the Tri-Clamp ports in your HERMS kettle
• Screw on the Tri-Clamp adapter from the outside with the EPDM gasket in place. Lightly hand-tighten only!
• Install the Tri-Clamp clamp between the adapter and the kettle with a normal Tri-Clamp gasket.
